9/27/2009 - Delavan Lake, sunny, 70 degrees, water temp 67
degrees, W winds at 10-15 mph. Caught 10 largemouth -3 were legal, 1
smallmouth - also legal and 2 northern pike. The bass were caught on
nightcrawlers fished on a split shot rig in about 15 ft of water.
The 2 northerns were caught lindy rigging medium suckers over about
20' of water, 1 ft off bottom. The best location was just west of
the Yacht Club.
9/24/2009 - Delavan Lake, sunny, 70 degrees, water temp 68
degrees, no wind. Caught 2 largemouth, 4 smallmouth and about 50
bluegills. Kept 25 really nice bluegills. This was a bluegill trip,
fished 16-18 ft of water about 6 inches off bottom. Used Bait Rigs
panfish cobras and Tommy Harris' agitator jigs. We fished about 5-6
different spots. The bigger fish were hard to find so we had to keep
moving. All the fish were caught in about 2 1/2 hours.
9/20/2009 - Lake Geneva, sunny, 70 degrees, water temp 69
degrees, winds SE at 10-15 mph. Caught 2 legal largemouth, 1 legal
smallmouth and a lot of nice perch. The best depth was 14 ft of
water. Tried anywhere from 28ft to 6 ft of water. The best location
was by Knollwood. The only fish I saw caught today came from our
boat.
9/19/2009 - p.m. - Delavan Lake, sunny 75 degrees, NE wind at 5
mph. Water temp 71 degrees. Caught 2 northerns, 1 legal, 5
largemouth - 2 were legal and a lot of bluegills. This week has been
very slow, I've been finding just one or two pockets of fish and all
other areas are without fish. The bass and bluegills were caught on
nightcrawlers in about 18 ft of water.
9/19/2009 - a.m. - Delavan Lake - sunny, SE wind at 5 mph, 69
degrees, water temp 70 degrees. Caught 2 walleyes- 1 was legal, 1
northern pike, 8 largemouth bass, 2 were legal. Caught one northern
on a small sucker and had two other bites. The walleyes and bass
were caught on split shot rigged nightcrawlers.
9/16/2009 - Delavan lake - sunny, 69 degrees, E wind at 5 mph.
Water temp 71 degrees. Caught 9 largemouth, 2 walleyes and 1
smallmouth. No fish today on suckers, all the fish were caught on
split shot rigged nightcrawlers. The best depth was 16 ft of water.
9/14/2009 - Delavan Lake - sunny, 85 degrees, no wind, water
temp 71 degrees. Caught 2 northerns, 2 walleyes, 1 smallmouth and 3
largemouth. Fished the weedline in 16 ft of water. Only found fish
in one location. The northerns were caught on suckers, 3-4 inches,
they were right off the bottom in 20 ft of water. The other fish
were caught on nightcrawlers fished on a split shot rig.
9/13/2009 - Delavan Lake - foggy then sunny, 70 degrees,
water temp 70 degrees, no wind at all. Caught 1 walleye, 1
smallmouth, 5 largemouth, the largest was 20 inches. Trolled
crankbaits for the first 2 hours. The best was the crappie pattern.
The best depth was 18 ft of water. After about 8 a.m., we switched
to nightcrawlers and caught a few more bass. The gills were very
active in 16 ft of water, we would have caught our limit if we were
fishing for them.
9/9/2009 - Delavan lake - sunny, 80 degrees, water temp 70
degrees, E winds at 10-15 mph. Caught 6 northern pike, missed
another 6, caught 5 bass, the biggest was 20 inches, and one
walleye. Fished 20 ft of water. Most of the fish were caught on
nightcrawles. The pike would hit the sucker and run out about 20 ft
of line and then drop it, it was very frustrating. We fished west of
the Yacht Club.
8/23/2009 - Delavan Lake - sunny, 70 degrees, water temp
73 degrees, NW winds at 10-15 mph. Caught 8 largemouth, 3 northerns

degrees, NW winds at 10 mph. Caught 1 largemouth, 4 smallmouth - 2
were legal, biggest was 20 inches. Fished all over the lake. The
best depth was 14-16 ft of water. We had the most success near
Knollwood. Tried a lot of deep water smallmouth bass spots but
there was nothing going on there, so we had to go shallow.
8/21/2009 - Delavan lake - cloudy, light rain, 65 degrees,
water temp 71 degrees, NW winds at 10 mph. Caught 2 northern pike,
1 walleye and 6 largemouth and 1 smallmouth bass. We did all right
considering a 20 degree cold front went through. Most of the fish
again were caught on medium suckers in 20-25 ft of water.
8/18/2009 - Delavan lake - sunny, 75 degrees, water temp
73 degrees. NW winds at 10-15 mph. Caught 2 northern pike, 1-22

most of the fish, the best depth was 20-25 ft of water. The fish
aren't on the main lake points anymore, they are just on the
weedline.

the SW at 10-15 mph. Caught 10 largemouth -2 were legal, 1

8/12/2009 - p.m. - Delavan Lake - sunny, 86 degrees, water

rigged nightcrawlers and lindy rigged suckers were the baits of
choice.
8/12/2009 - a.m. - Delavan Lake - sunny, 75 degrees, water

Water temp 74 degrees. Caught 15 largemouth - 6 were legal, 2
walleyes and a bunch of bluegills. Fishing was very good in the a.m.
ahead of the storms and rain. I concentrated on main lake points, no
takers today on the suckers, all fish were caught on nightcrawlers.
8/6/2009 - Delavan lake - sunny, 80 degrees, NW winds at 5
mph. Water temp 74 degrees. Caught 5 northern pike, 8 largemouth, 1

mph, partly cloudy. Caught 15 largemouth - 4 were legal. The largest
was 4 1/2 lbs. Caught a few bluegills in 2-3 ft of water on
nightcrawlers. Most of the larger fish were caught on green pumpkin
All Terrain Stiks. The outlet was the best location.
5/9/2009 - Lake Geneva, water temp 44-55 degrees depending on
location, air temp 60 degrees, cloudy and windy. Caught 2 smallmouth
and 5 largemouth bass - 3 were legal. All the fish were caught on
split shot rigs with nightcrawlers. All the fish were caught in
Geneva Bay. The best depth was 4-5 ft of water.
5/6/2009 - Delavan Lake, water temp 58 degrees, air temp 70
degrees, SW winds at 10 mph, partly cloudy. Caught 5 largemouth
bass. The bass were caught on split shot rigged nightcrawlers and
Texas rigged All Terrain Stiks in 3-4 ft of water. The best location
was by the outlet.
5/4/2009 - Whitewater Lake, water temp 60 degrees, air temp 70
degrees, winds SW at 10 mph. Caught 4 largemouth bass. All the fish

5/3/2009- Delavan Lake, water temp
50 degrees, air temp 65 degrees, winds SW at 10 mph. Caught 1
northern pike and my clients caught 7 largemouth bass from shore by
Lake Lawn Lodge. Nightcrawlers fished on a split shot rig produced
most of the action. The key of the day, was to find the warmer
water. The warmest water was near Lake Lawn Lodge in 3-5 ft of
water.
5/2/2009- Whitewater Lake, water temp 55 degrees, air temp 65
degrees, winds SW at 10 mph. Caught 1 largemouth bass. The fish was
caught on an All Terrain Stick. I guess fishing county wide wasn't
great due to the high pressure. I had to take my son out for Opening
Day, the good news was that lunch at the root beer store was great!
5/2/2009 - Delavan Lake, water temp 50 degrees, air temp 60
degrees, winds SW at 10 mph. Caught 2 largemouth bass and about 20
bluegills. Fishing was very slow. I was fishing with 400-500 of my
closest friends, so you can imagine the fishing pressure. Most of
the fish that were caught, were caught on white spinner baits in 3-4
ft of water. I caught my fish on All Terrain Sticks in 3 ft of water
on the west end. Overall, the consensus was that fishing was slow.
